NELCO was awarded this important project, which consisted of the renovation/restoration of a community center originally built in 1792. The building is listed on the National Historic register (and once hosted a concert for Aerosmith!)

We paid special attention to preserve and restore as many of the original materials as possible, including doors, wainscoting, millwork, flooring, marble sinks, even the 150-foot high cupola. While preserving the historic nature of the building, NELCO designed a way to open the exterior granite foundation and dig out 8’ of soil in the basement to allow for installation of a 4–floor elevator—a decidedly modern touch in a centuries-old building.

Thanks to the efforts of the NELCO teams, we competed the project on time, on budget.
